29 my head

sea rays
Day 29 and I've loved every minute of the past month. Doing my blog has been a great experience for me. Putting an accountability around my creativity, I was afraid may stifle my work, but on the contrary it's freed me up.  Actually sitting down and getting things out of my head has allowed me more space in my head and the freedom to experiment, develop ideas and get to places beyond where I knew, finding new ground. It's never been a chore on the contrary I've sometimes had trouble stopping, it's been a case of me saying, stop go to bed, it's late but then my head is buzzing so much i can't sleep anyway.
Tomorrow is day 30 and I won't be here to blog, that's not to say I won't be creative just won't get it up here on the last day!  but as I've already decided this is too good to stop it's not going to be my last day. Now all I have to do is work out how I make money doing what I love thanks Beth, and thank you Sam for getting us both enrolled back into our Art.

This 'Sun's rays' illustration began as my painting, then photographed, photoshopped, filtered, layered and generally me just being totally self indulgent with my mac.
I'm going to put these two up on the white wall gallery and get myself one! in celebration of my 30 days.

25 Painting

Had a great afternoon painting with Sam, another Shropshire landscape.
                                                      a sea picture

and a sunset reflection pic, which I'm kind of hoping will stay with the reds. It doesn't seem to matter how colourful I start my paintings seem to go into the greens and blues.
Dispite painting next to Sam and her wonderful colour sense. Been a great day though, and all the above still need work on but hopefully won't leave it so long to get the paints back out. Nice messy change to the computer and such a clean way of creating illustrations.

Creating things I think have a commercial possibility area real challenge, but I guess on cafepress I'll get to see if they are, and if not it's easy to change them.

An advert for pony mag and loading images into the cafepress site so very busy, positive and the right direction... and the D Sugar Cubes blog too...

22 Discovering

Interesting creative night!.
wasn't sure how or where to start. Just started to feel like I'm getting somewhere, and too late to carry on. So I'm hoping I can start off tomorrow from where I've just arrived. But that's a surprise for tomorrow so here's what happened tonight. No explanations just some of the images which have helped me discover new techniques.

20 & 21 dance figures

20

This first couple belong to yesterday the 20th. I drew them yesterday and then went out to my Tango class.
I'm not happy with him, I like her but the question is, is this a tango couple or not? I asked for opinions and the answer is, it's not.

21

So the image above has been named 'Dance embrace'  I'm putting it up here so I can see how my dancing figures will improve. I love the simplicity of this one and there's lots of potential to play with the 3 solid colours/shapes.

as these figures are more suitable to a blues room I've played with the blues and the fire...

now I need to make sure I take a sketch book with me dancing so I can get some better figures. I get much better starting figures working from life.

15 measured space

I now owe an explanation on what I love about men! Well, I really meant mankind.
When I see photographs  of buildings like these, someone's vision, a drawing become reality. It makes me feel proud to be here, with people who can see and build.

Simple lines of design, looking weightless, but hiding a strength and power.

I love nature, and silence. I love being in the middle of nowhere.

but I also love what man is capable of when he does the right thing .

stylised version of the seedpod keeping the fresh colours
small repeat

small repeat spliced

loosing the small spots, keeping the curved lines
summer coloured seedpods using my own seedpod brush
like coloured bubbles on a dark background
seeds gone leaving the background, diff colours and layers great geometrics!
bit of everything but sticking to one colour
playing with the colours
and another
3 colour simple print version
and blue
the last two mixed together

more mixed, more layers, more colours

and it's taken me longer to load this blog than it took to design these prints!!!!!
